The green route

The green route starts from Palinuro, that it draws its origins in the narration of the Eneide. The name of the seafaring village and homonym Head is binded to the moving legend of  Enea the sailor, for love sinked in the waters that break up on the limestone bastions, where evocative coves and insenature live, between high spurs of rocks, driven in reefs and beaches of the most fine sand.

Each cave connotes for its peculiar characteristics due to the presence of fossil boneses, particular colorations of the cliff or to the sulphureous gas presence.

Between these the most known is the Blue Cave therefore called thanks to the intense blue determined from the light that penetrates under the cave through a marine siphon. Palinuro was inhabited since the paleolitic/neolitic age.

A very small piece of earth and sea, where the nature has been inspired to leave tangible signs of its power: a sea with limpid water, rich of natural caves and wonderful bays. And where it is possible to find a oneness botanist-floristic, localized exclusively on the coast that goes from Palinuro Head to the Gulf of Policastro: the Primula of Palinuro (Primufo Palinuri), symbol of the National Park of the Cilento and Vallo of Diano.

Left Palinuro we reach the hill of Centola, from where the traveller can aim the look for Palinuro Head: austere, immense, similar to a large petrified cetacean, for half sinked in the sea.

Many other paths are marked in the territory of the Park, where there is the possibility to have naturalistic walks and trekking
